This course focuses on a study of people?s activity in relation to spatial location – an interpretation of world patterns of social, political, and economic behaviour. Areas of emphasis are: the impact of the physical environment upon people and their culture, land forms and spatial relationships, climate and natural resources and how they affect the lives of people, crucial resources (fisheries, minerals, forests, water, oil), and how transportation and communication have shrunk the world and affected trade, industry, migration, ideas, and customs. Includes a study of 3 of the worlds regions.
