Residential Construction 2201

This two-term course is a continuation of the material covered in Skilled Trades 1201, and presents advanced topics new to the curriculum. The first two units contain most of the classroom-based activities and form the basis of instruction for the remaining unit.  The third unit includes most of the hands-on activities and is designed with a modular approach to instruction. Students will work in groups of two on each of the construction “modules” which will be placed around the fabrication lab. Students will learn how to install a door and a window, frame up for a wall, build stairs, install vinyl and wood siding, shingle a roof and other skills related to construction.
