Life After High School 2020

Letter from your counsellors

Hello from the Guidance & Counselling Department at HHM

April, 2020

Hello Highlanders and parents,

We hope this message finds you well and managing life during the COVID-19 pandemic. We certainly miss seeing all of you at school and want you to know that we are here to support you as you navigate the completion of your high school programming and transition into the next stage of your life…Life After High School.

For some of you, this will be a transition into community-based programs, for some, entry into the work force, and for some, continuing on with additional education. To assist you in your transition, the Guidance & Counselling Department has prepared some useful information to help you with decision-making, provide you with important contacts you may need, and to answers some of the questions you may have about moving forward.

We recognize that finishing your final year this way is different than what you had expected however; it is necessary in order to keep us all safe and on our chosen path for our future. All of us here at Holy Heart are available to offer you our support and guidance in order to reach your graduation/school leaving goals. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly for assistance. If we don’t have the answer to the question you have, we will certainly work with you to find it.

Hang in there. Stay safe. Wash your hands. Take care of your physical and mental health and be patient and kind to those around you. We are all in this together…just as our school motto says “One Heart Among Us”!

Sincerely,

Ms. Furlong-Mallard & Mr. Perry (your School Counsellors)
