Holy Heart High School Announce Partnership with Eastern Health

Darryl Piercey is a Mental Health and Addictions Counselor working within Eastern Health at Doorways and Adolescent Addictions Services. Darryl provides counseling to people of all ages, especially people from 12 to 18 years old, with various issues. Some of the most common issues are relationships, difficulty coping with emotions, thoughts, and decisions, anxiety, depression, anger, loss, and issues with alcohol, drugs, gambling, video games, and any other issue that one wants support and counseling.

Doorways is a single session walk-in counseling service being offered here at Holy Heart every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Any student who wishes to receive counseling and support can advise school staff and visit room 302a.

The counseling session usually starts with talking about the concern and finding ways to help resolve or cope. It involves the counselor pointing out strength and success to help you develop a simple plan to resolve the concern and improve life. The person will talk about what they want and will not be required to deal with anything the person doesn’t want to deal with.

If you have any questions about Doorways at Holy Heart, you can ask school staff and/or Darryl at room 302a on Thursday morning, or call Doorways St. John’s location at 752 4903.
